Social Networking for Display Engineering Professionals

With all sorts of social networking opportunities out there, it's great to see a site that is dedicated to display engineering professionals. Planar has created a LinkedIn page where display engineering types can connect and share ideas, throw out questions and post jobs or look for one in a variety of industries, applications and display technologies.

Electroluminescent Displays on the Space Shuttle


We came across this NASA image from 1985 of a Planar electroluminescent (EL) display on the space shuttle. The display was part of the GRID laptop, one of the first notebooks on the market. The fact that EL displays can handle 100 G's was definitely a plus for this application.
